STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Five
AN ACT relative to the presence of a fire department at a fireworks display.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Public Safety; Fireworks; Local Option. Amend RSA 160-B:10 to read as follows:
160-B:10 Local Option.
I. Any municipality in the state, by action of its local legislative body or local governing body, may vote to allow or to prohibit, within that municipality, the issuance of permits or licenses to the extent authorized under RSA 160-B:6 and 160-B:7. If the municipality has voted to prohibit the issuance of permits or the display of fireworks prior to March 1, 1992, such decision shall remain in effect unless subsequent action is taken under this section.
II. In any municipality that votes to allow, within that municipality, the issuance of permits for display fireworks, the local fire department may inspect the site of the display. The local fire chief shall determine whether to have the presence of fire department personnel and extinguishing equipment at the display and if so, how long the presence shall last.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
