ANALYSIS
This bill requires a dental hygienist to be trained and to pass an examination before being permitted to administer local anesthesia.
This bill is at the request of the office of professional licensure and certification and the board of dental examiners.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Five
AN ACT relative to the practice of dental hygiene.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Dentists and Dentistry; Practice of Dental Hygiene. Amend RSA 317-A:21-c, II(e) to read as follows:
(e) The administration of local anesthesia, provided the dental hygienist is qualified by the board after training and after passing an examination approved by the board.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
